Pierce County has announced the launch of their Mobile Resource Center, which is designed to help provide resources and services to those in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

It will especially be helpful to senior citizens, which have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic. The Mobile Resource Center will deliver nutrition, transportation, and critical services. In addition, citizens of Pierce County will be able to apply for other financial aid for rent, healthcare, energy assistance, and home repair.

Heather Moss, Pierce County Human Services Director, had this to say about the program: “Although it took a pandemic to get here, we are excited to launch this new effort to bring important services to our community, rather than waiting for people in need to come to us. Look for the van in your neighborhood or send us a message to request a visit.”

The services are expected to help in a big way as thousands suffer at the hands of the pandemic both from a health and financial standpoint.
