Dr. Ed Marcuse and Dr. John Dunn will represent the state of Washington in the COVID Vaccine Scientific Safety Review Workgroup.

Gov. Jay Inslee (D-WA) announced their appointment to the group last week.  The workgroup is a partnership with the states of California, Oregon, and Nevada.

Marcuse graduated from Stanford Medical School with a doctor of medicine degree and received his master of public health from the University of Washington.  He has served on the U.S. National Vaccine Advisory Committee, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice, and the Food and Drug Administration's Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee.

Dunn received his doctor of medicine degree at Northwestern University and got his master of public health from Harvard University School of Public Health.  He's a member of the Health and Human Services National Vaccine Advisory Committee.

"Together, their experience and expertise represent the best of our state and I know they will add a tremendous amount of knowledge to this very important workgroup," Inslee said in a release posted on the governor's website
