There was a single gas station in cities across Pierce County selling regular gas at the lowest price of $4.35 per gallon in the week ending May 11, according to GasBuddy.com.

The average cost of regular gas in cities within Pierce County was $4.77 per gallon.

Of the 48 gas stations in cities within Pierce County, 22 offer regular gas.

The $4.61 average price of regular gas in Washington was unchanged from the previous week.

Experts predict gasoline prices could drop below $3 this year before rebounding closer to $4 by year's end. GasBuddy forecasted a national average of $3.38 per gallon, down from $3.51. An outlook published in late 2023 suggests that gas rates will continue to fall in 2024.
