Pierce County Superior Court announces the retirement of Judge Kitty-Ann van Doorninck. Judge van Doorninck has served the citizens of Pierce County for 24 years.
Throughout her career, she has always been passionate about helping children and families. She began her career in the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney's Office before being appointed to Department 20 in Pierce County Superior Court by Gov. Gary Locke in 1998.
She has worked with various juvenile justice programs and assisted in the first dedicated Pierce County Family Court rotation for high conflict custody disputes. She was actively involved in the Superior Court Judges' Association and the Washington State Supreme Court’s Commission on Children in Foster Care.
In her retirement, she plans to spend more time with her family and friends while continuing to engage in the community. Please join us in congratulating her on an outstanding career.
