Work to resurface Sumner-Buckley Highway East from 258th Avenue East to West Mason Avenue at the Buckley city limits will begin April 4. The work is expected to be complete in late May.

Crews will install or replace guardrail at several sections within the project area.

Site preparation work will take place the week of April 4. Resurfacing work is expected to start Apr. 11.

Traffic impacts
Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

The two-lane road may be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic during work hours. A pilot car may lead motorists through the work area.

ICON Materials is the project’s contractor. The construction cost is approximately $1.1 million and is funded with Washington State County Road Administration Board Rural Arterial Program funds.
